Hello friend. Thanks for stopping by!

If this little online space were my home, I’d invite you to come in for a cup of coffee. We would sit down at my dining room table, light a scented candle, and chat for a bit.

I would nurse my baby girl and we would be interrupted a few (dozen) times by my boys who would want to show you their latest Lego creations. My daughter would probably play quietly nearby because she likes to be close to her mama, but we would do our best to pretend we were in a cute little coffee shop somewhere because sometimes the only real coffee dates you have time for are the ones at your very own tables.

We would probably start out with small talk…What have you been reading lately? Do you think I should cut my hair? You need to try this new recipe!

But I hope we would move past small talk and really make the most of our time together.

How are you? No, how are you really? In the middle of the busyness of life and serving others, are you making time for yourself? How are you feeling physically, mentally, and spiritually? Are you finding ways to use your gifts and creativity?

I would tell you that not too long ago, I wasn’t doing very well. I felt lost in my identity and purpose. I had stopped taking care of my body. I wasn’t purposefully investing in my soul or mind. My gifts and creativity lay dormant. I felt like I had nothing to offer.

After a season of many tears and much prayer, I am so happy to say that I am no longer in that place.

The Lord restored me, but it didn’t happen overnight, and it didn’t happen without any effort on my part. The Holy Spirit called me forth and I responded by surrendering my fears and insecurities, engaging my will and thoughts with the promises of God and the truth of Scripture, and taking action steps of faith back toward a life of purpose and abundance.

“Arrange your days so that you experience total contentment, joy, and confidence in your everyday life with God.” ~ Dallas Willard

I realized that the choices I made each day would collectively make up who I was and what my life was about, so I started living with intention, setting grace-filled goals and changing my habits, in order to do my best with what I have been given – my time, my body, my mind, my heart, my gifts, my home, and my family. I began purposefully filling up so that I could generously pour out into the lives of others, and His grace has carried me farther than I ever could have gone in my own strength.

I have been blogging for several years now, sharing stories of my journey and what I’m learning along the way. I hope you find this to be a place of encouragement as you move forward in your own journey toward a life of purpose and abundance. Be gentle with yourself friend and take it one step, one grace at a time.

I so enjoyed our little coffee date. Let’s do this again soon!
