Our Master Bedroom

Phillip and I have been married for ten years, and for most of those ten years, our master bedroom remained kind of neglected in the decorating department. We had no headboard, random bedding, mismatched (in a bad way) side tables and lamps, and an old dresser that looked very small in proportion to our king-sized bed. Two years ago, I was ready to give our master bedroom a makeover and started a board on Pinterest where I began pinning photos of bedrooms that inspired me in some way. That … [Read more...]

Our Kitchen Makeover

In all of the the updates we made to our new house, our kitchen was definitely the space that received the most amount of work and underwent the biggest transformation. It also took the longest to complete, and there were a couple of times that I wondered if I would ever have cabinet doors again. But all of the work and the wait were so worth the finished results! Kitchen Before: When we first toured the house, I wasn't sure what I thought about the kitchen. I liked the layout and space … [Read more...]

Our Living Room

Hello! I hope you are having a good week. I am sorry that this little home tour of mine is moving along so slowly, but homeschooling two little boys while 31 weeks pregnant and trying to find the time to photograph clean rooms when the natural lighting is just right...not easy. I'm just saying. But we had a big cleaning day on Saturday, so I manage to snap a few pics of our living room when we were finished. Our living room is located in the back right part of the downstairs of our … [Read more...]

Our Homeschool Room

One of the first rooms we painted and decorated in our new house was our school room, which also serves as my craft space and office. This room was top priority for me because I knew that the boys and I would be spending majority of our time in this space, even though we were months away from our homeschool year actually beginning. And as I predicted, the boys have spent many of their summer hours in this room crafting and playing, and now that school has begun, we are in here for several hours … [Read more...]

A Very Craigslist Christmas

Here are a few examples...Last Christmas, my husband gave me a black Kitchen Aid mixer that he found on Craigslist for $75. I have always wanted a Kitchen … [Read more...]

Frugal and Creative Gift Giving

How To Shop Craigslist

So if you know me in "real life" or have read much of my blog, you will know that I am a big fan of buying used. I LOVE Craigslist, yard sales, thrift stores, hand-me-downs, dumpster diving, free stuff at the curb, etc. In fact, I cannot tell you one piece of furniture in my house that was purchased new. We always look to buy used whenever possible. And not just furniture, we also buy used clothing, cloth diapers, baby gear, electronics, and jewelry. One of our favorite places to shop for used … [Read more...]

From Shabby to Naturally Chic

I have been wanting to redecorate the dining area of my kitchen for a while now. When we moved into this house 8 months ago, I was very pregnant with Little Man and we just moved our stuff in, hung a few pictures and that was that. Last Sunday, I really got bitten by the decorating bug and started searching Craigslist for a new table and chairs. My timing was perfect, because somebody had just listed this table and four chairs for FREE! I love the table and saw great potential for the … [Read more...]

Our pear tree is full of ripe pears ready to be picked and made into yummy preserves! Little Man had his first taste of food other than Mama's milk... Buddy had fun pretending to hang laundry like Mama. He's even wearing a little apron to hold his clothespins... The little cousins relaxed on the sun porch...
