Her Vintage Nursery

This past weekend we finally finished and hung the wall arrangement in our (almost here!) daughter's room, and on Tuesday, Jack and I finished up his crafty little contribution, so I am excited to share pictures with you today! I guess you can't technically call her room a nursery, because there is no crib (we co-sleep), but it is still her room nonetheless! The thrifty DIY gal in me is proud to say that I only spent about $50. We mostly reused items that had been previously used elsewhere in … [Read more...]

Our Master Bedroom

Phillip and I have been married for ten years, and for most of those ten years, our master bedroom remained kind of neglected in the decorating department. We had no headboard, random bedding, mismatched (in a bad way) side tables and lamps, and an old dresser that looked very small in proportion to our king-sized bed. Two years ago, I was ready to give our master bedroom a makeover and started a board on Pinterest where I began pinning photos of bedrooms that inspired me in some way. That … [Read more...]

Our Superhero Boys’ Room

Disclaimer: The boys' room is never this clean. It was actually quite a disaster the other night, and I asked Phillip to help them clean it up while I went to the grocery store, and was pleasantly surprised to find that they did a good deep clean. I figured it was now or never to snap some pictures, because I don't anticipate it looking like this again anytime in the near future. :-) In our old house, the boys had a tiny bedroom that was a pass through to our master bedroom. They shared a … [Read more...]

Our Kitchen Makeover

In all of the the updates we made to our new house, our kitchen was definitely the space that received the most amount of work and underwent the biggest transformation. It also took the longest to complete, and there were a couple of times that I wondered if I would ever have cabinet doors again. But all of the work and the wait were so worth the finished results! Kitchen Before: When we first toured the house, I wasn't sure what I thought about the kitchen. I liked the layout and space … [Read more...]

My Southern Dining Room

Our house has a very traditional floor plan, with a formal living room (which we use as a school room), a den, an eat-in kitchen, and a formal dining room on the main floor. I had always thought that formal dining rooms were an often wasted space, but the breakfast area of our kitchen is very small, so I was happy to have the larger dining room for any meals that involve more people than our little family of four. My intentions were to keep the dining room very informal with a farmhouse style … [Read more...]

Our Living Room

Hello! I hope you are having a good week. I am sorry that this little home tour of mine is moving along so slowly, but homeschooling two little boys while 31 weeks pregnant and trying to find the time to photograph clean rooms when the natural lighting is just right...not easy. I'm just saying. But we had a big cleaning day on Saturday, so I manage to snap a few pics of our living room when we were finished. Our living room is located in the back right part of the downstairs of our … [Read more...]

Our Homeschool Room

One of the first rooms we painted and decorated in our new house was our school room, which also serves as my craft space and office. This room was top priority for me because I knew that the boys and I would be spending majority of our time in this space, even though we were months away from our homeschool year actually beginning. And as I predicted, the boys have spent many of their summer hours in this room crafting and playing, and now that school has begun, we are in here for several hours … [Read more...]
