A Whole Lot of Happy

One month ago I was packing up our house for storage, our suitcases for my mother-in-law’s, and caught somewhere in the middle of excitement and anxiety.

Today, I am happy to say that we are living in the house with stairs!

The closing went so smoothly that Phillip and I walked out of the office feeling like they might call us any second to say that they had overlooked something major and the deal was off.

But they didn’t and that feeling slowly went away and was replaced by the “pinch me because I feel like I’m dreaming” feeling as we walked into the empty house for the first time as the proud new owners.

Over the past few weeks, we have been working at turning the house into our home. We have been painting the interior walls and trim, and are giving the kitchen a facelift. I can’t wait to share some pictures as we get a little bit further along.

A big thanks to all of you who have kept me in your thoughts and prayers and encouraged me throughout this transition for our family. Looking back now, I can say that this house was worth the wait and that the Father’s timing was perfect.

I have one more piece of exciting news to share…

In November, we will be welcoming a sweet little baby into our family. We couldn’t be more excited! The boys are already making big plans for this little sibling of theirs. Aidan wants to name the baby “Little John” regardless of the gender. Jack desperately wants a little sister and has been drawing tons of pictures of our “five” family.

Things will probably remain slow here on the blog for a few months as we continue to settle in as well as prepare for 4 weeks of youth camp in June/July, but you can always keep up with me on Facebook and Instagram in the meantime.

Take care and have a happy summer!
