January has been a fun and busy month!
:: in the ministry ::
We are settling in well at our new church and making lots of friends. Phillip and I have been working on redesigning our student center, and we turned the old game room into a cool coffee shop where I have had a lot of fun painting and thrifting and decorating. The boys love hanging out at the student center all day because the main room is a big as a gymnasium and it has concrete floors – the perfect place to ride trikes and scooters!
:: at home ::
Our days at home have been spent reading and playing and crafting. We are almost finished with our first chapter book read-aloud, Peter Pan. What a great book! I also started doing Before Five in a Row with the boys and we are loving it so far! We are VERY relaxed in our little home(pre)school, but BFIAR is a great jumping off point for fun learning activities centered around classic children’s literature.
We are still showing our house and praying that someone will make an offer soon, so that we can move closer to our new church and stop making this long commute. I would love it if you would keep us in your prayers!
:: in the kitchen ::
I already shared with you that I have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen preparing grain-free meals for our family in hopes of healing Aidan’s digestive system. I am happy to report that he is doing much better already! And I am doing better at figuring out what type of snacks and meals to keep on hand and also how to pack food for our busy days at the church. So my initial feelings of stress and being completely overwhelmed at all of the dietary changes are slowly fading away, and this new way of eating is beginning to feel more normal for our family.
Hello to our Desperate Book Study that begins tomorrow!
Hello to quiet and relaxation as Phillip and I head up to the mountains next weekend on a married couple’s retreat with our church!
Hello to the Allume blogging community in which my first contributor post will be up on February 8th!
Hello to Aidan’s 3rd birthday on February 16th! I can’t believe my baby is going to be 3. He is growing up way to fast!
Hello to whatever surprises the Father has in store for me and my family! I’m leaving plenty of white space and margin in my plans for February and looking forward to seeing His hand at work!
How was your January? What are you saying hello to in February?
